Cute pictures

A couple of weeks ago, I posted a picture of the first rose bud of the season. Well, if anyone is interested, here is the same rose in full bloom. Now there are a dozen little buds waiting to bloom.
Mom (Jean), Gabe loves to use the lamb you gave him as a pillow. It's pretty cute. I guess everyone knows by now that it is me (Susan) that keeps this blog going (though Nathan is very supportive) =)

Long awaited videos!!!

For whatever it's worth, Gabe is 1 year, 1 month, 1 week, and 1 day old today. I found that slightly amusing. =) This first video is from about 3 weeks ago when Gabe was first starting to walk. He was only taking a step or two without holding on to something. The second video is from today. (Don't worry, it's a short one) Now he is walking like a champ! OK, maybe a little unsteadily, but not too bad.

Here is Gabe after his first real injury. =( He fell down a stair earlier in the day and scraped his chin and then he tumbled again in our driveway and scraped it again. Are we bad parents for taking a picture of our sons misery? Poor guy.
But it hurts sooo bad, momma!"

OK, so isn't 13 months too early for my son to be turning over his toy bucket, and climbing on top of it to turn on the DVD player? We were back in the bedroom and heard one of Gabe's movies start playing. I thought maybe he had gotten a hold of the remote and pushed some buttons, but this is what we came out to find. Oh, my. Is that a guilty face or what?

This is Gabe's new play area that we finished up this morning.

I thought we were done taking pictures of the cat after Gabe was born, but apparently Nathan doesn't think so. He did look really funny sitting in the sink.


Here is Michael in a go-cart at Adventure Landing last week. We were able to go for the boys spring break. Gabe enjoyed watching them drive, but I think he really wanted to get in one. Michael has a very serious look on his face here as he did for the whole ride.

Here is Michael again with his brother Ryan coming up fast behind him. Ryan lapped Michael several times. I'm not sure if Michael's feet don't quite reach, or if he just doesn't want to go any faster.

We have a little bit of our own March Madness here at our house. Gabe's favorite shot is the slam-dunk. OK, it's pretty much his only shot. But he's pretty good at it.

Look at the concentration on that face. I think I can, I think I can...He's taking several steps, but it's still much faster to crawl, so that's what he does most of the time.

Unfortunately for him, the cat was long gone by the time he got up here. At least I got this cute picture. Here is some of the outdoor work we did today. I planted some daylilies here that our neighbor gave to us and put some mulch down. It looks better than the dirt mess that was there before. Hopefully the daylillies will grow quickly!

Here is our first rose of the season. Sorry it's a little out of focus.

I spent a large part of yesterday and today weeding out this area (where the rose bushes are). It looks much better as well.

We also worked for awhile on our backyard, but pictures of that will have to wait. We still have a long way to go with what we want to do.

Here is Gabe walking with help for basically the first time! This is all fine and dandy except for now he doesn't want to ride in anything! He pushed his stroller on our walk last night. He pushed the cart through Lowes this afternoon. We've created a monster! (but a cute one)
