Lilypie Fourth Birthday tickers

Gabe made a new friend tonight: This riding horse. He wanted to ride on my back, and my back was tired. So I told him to ride on his horse...and he did! He rode it all over the house singing...

...and giving it kisses (though I couldn't quite catch that)...

...and giving it hugs...

...and dragging it.

Not a horse, but he enjoys riding this too.

Gabriel on the swing

Gabriel decided yesterday that he wanted to get his old baby swing out of the closet and here are the results. More pictures to follow...

cow appreciation night

Tonight we went out to Chick-fil-a dressed as cows. In case you were not aware, it was cow appreciation night, and anyone who dressed as a cow got a free meal. So was it worth the loss of our dignity to get three free meals? You bet it was.Mmmm...good chicken!
And good water (wa-wa) too!
Happy to be on the way home with a full belly (and a balloon too!)

Lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer

Our day outside today. We got Gabe a little pool. He does like water, but not so much sitting in it. Oh, and can you tell he likes his balls? He's laughing in the picture below. I promise.

Just chillin' on the swing. It was like a hundred degrees this afternoon.

On the potty! This was the first time he asked to get on the potty! I know he doesn't look very happy here, but I think he was more upset about getting his picture taken than being on the potty. He sat on it several times today. We're still working on the actual "going" to the potty, but it will come.

After getting ready for bed. Making faces for the camera this time:
He never lets those balls get too far out of his sight. It has been a recent battle to get him to put them away at bedtime.

Catching up

Hey blog-readers! I bet you thought I forgot about you. I'm back!
Happy Fourth of July! We waited up for the fireworks again this year. We get a great display right from our driveway (thanks to the Dallas Athletic Club across the street!) Here are some pictures of us waiting.

Yes, this is an adult-sized chair. He looks so big in it!
Gabe did great, but was pretty tired by the time the fireworks started (9:30). He didn't get to bed until 10:15. I wonder what time he'll get up in the morning?

Here are a couple of pictures of him from last year. Quite a difference!

Last weekend we went to the zoo. Gabe actually rode the carousel this time and seemed to enjoy it.

May

Jensens - you commented awhile ago that you would like it even better if there were two of Gabe. Well, this is as close as you are going to get. Enjoy. =)
Not a great picture, but he looked cute in the outfit, so I had to try.
His favorite new thing to do is to climb up in his rocking chair by himself and look at books. I turned on his music the other day and then walked away to do something. When I came back he was standing in the middle of his rug dancing. He stopped as soon as he saw me and gave me a big grin. It was so funny.

Out for a walk in his new (to him) wagon. He loves to ride in here!

At the zoo with daddy yesterday morning while mommy was at a church breakfast. Apparently he is no longer afraid of these bronze statues (not that you can tell by this face).

Holding flowers for Mother's Day. Thanks Nana and Papaw. I had a great day today. We went out to Outback for lunch and then we all took a nap this afternoon. We spent a little time at the park this evening and now the little tyke is in bed. I guess it's time to catch up on a few episodes of Lost. Good night!

April

My little climber:

He loves his new balls! (Can you tell?) Thanks Casey and Emma! The only problem he has is how to hold on to all three of them at once!

Our new bathroom floor. Hooray!
