NASA

Fun day at the space center. We were only there for a couple hours. It would have been nice to be able to stay a little longer, but we weren't going to be able to go on the tram tour because of the rain so we decided to leave about 3:30 so we could beat the Houston traffic and get back at a decent hour. We got home about 8:30 and Gabe was in bed by 9:00 with a little bit of a tummy-ache (too much vacation?). Back to work tomorrow!

Nathan riding a bike upside down (within a circle).

Not Nathan, but a farther out picture so you can see the whole thing.
I'm assuming only a few people a day are able to do this. One of the guys running it said Nathan was the first person he'd ever seen go all the way around.

Here's Gabe with his "lightsaber" balloon.

Children's Museum of Houston

No great shots here, but some pictures from the Children's Museum to enjoy. It is 3:00 and Gabe has been in his bed for at least 30 minutes and he is still jabbering up a storm. Nothing like a change in routine. Note: the great mustache on Gabe's face is thank to daddy's artistic ability.

Houston Day #1

On the drive down. Isn't he cool in his sunglasses?
Setting up camp in the hotel room. He was tired, but we all decided against a nap in favor of going to the aquarium.
These pictures aren't the best quality because I took them on my phone. I left the memory card back in the hotel room. Oops! At least you get the idea.
Downtown ferris wheel, fun! All the rides were included with the aquarium ticket.
Splash park. We weren't as prepared as some people, but it did feel good!
Dinner at the aquarium restaurant.
Carousel - It wasn't crowded at all so we rode this 3 times!
Gabe loves a good bounce house!
They also had train that went through a big shark tank tunnel. All of it was perfect for Gabe, tired or not. He started nodding off on the way back to the hotel (at 7:15) but didn't want to go to sleep when we got there. He finally got quiet about 8:15. So now we're stuck here being quiet too! Oh well... another big day tomorrow!

page two of the quiet book

I like this one. This is another magnet one and is basically just for fun. Gabe loves it already. The animals can either go in the barn or in the fence.

May 2010 part 2

More from the Botanic Gardens...

On a totally different note, I've started working on what is typically known as a "quiet book". I've got tons of ideas. This is my first page. It is a color match page. The stars have magnets in them, so they will stay together. Maybe I'll have a few pages done before our car trip this weekend. =)

May 2010

Happy Memorial Day! It's almost time to say good-bye to another month. There is so much going on and yet nothing at the same time. Our house in Texas is now up for sale, so the next few months should be interesting one way or another. We are enjoying a quiet day off...some shopping, some napping, some Dave and Busters. We had a great picnic at church yesterday and took a meal to a friend with a new baby. I (Susan, of course) have a bit of an easier week since the family I work for is on vacation, but I will still be doing some work. Another friend of mine had twins this week (the sister-in-law of the first friend), and both of the twins are in the NICU. They also have an 18 month old daughter, so we might be helping a bit with that this week. On Saturday, we are heading to Houston for a 3 day "vacation" to see a bit more of Texas before we move on. In pictures, I am catching up a little, since I somehow neglected to get some of these off the camera from Nathan's graduation and having family in town. Enjoy! These are all from our trip to the Ft. Worth Botanical Gardens. I'm trying to upload more, but it's giving me trouble, so I guess I'll have to try again later.
