Gabe's "first" haircut

I know, I know. He's 3, right? Well, it was his first official haircut. We've done a few home trims, but I don't claim to be a stylist. So anyway, we wanted to make the procedure as painless as possible, so we went to Cool Cuts for Kids. They let him pick out a video (although he didn't actually do so because he was being stubborn about the whole thing). He fought getting into the seat (a cool taxi car!) for about 60 seconds and then he settled in for the ride.
We saw this face a few times.
And he leaned as far away from the stylist as he could get for most of the time.
Not a bad deal...sucking on a lollipop, watching toy story in a car. We won't do this everytime!
Proud of his new short haircut with his certificate.

Trip to Culvers

Last weekend, they had a "patio party" at Culvers. We had a great time and got some free things. Nathan's picture of "scoopie" (below) was the hit of the party.
Gabe liked the water balloons.

And he won the "custard walk" and got to pick out a prize. He knew exactly what he wanted, but they didn't have it in their prize box. He politely (?) asked for the stuffed dog, and as usual, he got what he wanted.

Bike riding, feeding ducks (again) and the Ft. Worth Zoo

As per Popaw's request, here is Gabe pedaling his bike. He's got the rhythm down, he just needs more strength to really get himself going.
We went during the day this time, so the ducks were actually hungry. One duck came up and took bread right out of Gabe's hand!
Yesterday (Saturday), we went to the Fort Worth Zoo. Nathan had never been there before. The last time Gabe and I went, he was only about 4 months old (we also took Michael and Ryan that time). It was a PERFECT day weather-wise. The only downside of the day is that we did lose Lambie. Really. And not on purpose, either. Gabe wants to go get him, but he's handling it well.

Mothers Day weekend

We had some animal fun this weekend. First, a petting zoo and pony rides at a DTS graduation party.
Not to mention the bounce houses!
My little horseman!
Last night, we went to a little pond to feed ducks and for Gabe to ride his bike. He had a great time with the ducks (which he tried to pet, thanks to the previously mentioned petting zoo). And he's finally learning to pedal! yeah!

I had a great mother's day. My boys made it special for me!

Easter part 2

Gabe's Easter basket - Note to self for next year: Don't put the toy on top, or Gabe won't look at anything else.
Easter Egg hunt in the morning
So excited that he found an egg!

Easter part 1

As per my father's request, here are a couple of pictures of Linus since his haircut. He looks like he lost 10 pounds!

We went to an Easter egg hunt at a large church this morning. Gabe enjoyed the bounce houses until time for the candy. Several of our friends were there as well.

We got in on the LAST pony ride of the day and Gabe loved it! Anyone want to buy him a pony for his next birthday? JUST KIDDING!

This week

So, none of these are fabulous pictures, but it's about time for an update. A couple of weeks ago, we planted a garden. We planted some peas, carrots, peppers, lettuce, and strawberries. We're keeping our fingers crossed! Some sprouts are starting to come up!

We went to the zoo yesterday and had a great time. They have a jeep there that all the kids love to climb on and the back half of the jeep is inside the cheetah's cage. We were lucky enough that a couple of cheetahs decided to jump into the back of the truck yesterday. It was awesome!
Wish I could have gotten a better picture, but they only stayed for about 30 seconds and it took me about that long to whip out my phone and get it ready. =)

My little water bug wanted to spend lots of time in this part of the children's zoo. And I spent a little time in there myself! It got up into the 90's yesterday.

Making some easter sugar cookies (and sampling some dough.

Swimming in his new pool (that I bought on clearance last summer). =)
