Yesterday (Saturday)

We had a very busy Saturday.  We started off by going to Calloway's nursery for a free kids day that they were having.  Gabe was able to have some popcorn, bounce in a bounce house, decorate a small pumpkin and a small pot with grass in it.  There was also this fun lizard just hanging out.  Gabe didn't want to hold it, but he did pet it.

The above picture is out of order.  At the end of the day, we went to Target and Gabe used his money to buy a new Chuggington train.  We also went to Best Buy and Nathan and I were able to get a new, much needed camera.  However, all these shots were taken with my camera phone.  I tried to get Gabe to look at the camera and smile all day, and he refused.  But when we left target, he insisted I take his picture with his new train.
After we went to Calloways, we went north to a mall parking lot, where a non profit was putting on a fundraiser.  It was called Touch a Truck and they had all sorts of cars and trucks that the kids could get in and see and find out about.
They had 4 firetrucks old and new.  The firemen and women were very nice and helpful.

Daddy's favorite vehicle of the day.
One of Gabe's favorite's (dump truck).  One of the volunteers asked him what his favorite was, and he said "all the red ones".  (Red is his favorite color)

Playing with his trucks on the way home.  =)  (and making a silly face on purpose)

Feeding the ducks; Gabe's favorite part of the whole trip.

The Oklahoma City Memorial.  This was probably a little over a mile away, so we caught a free trolley to get there.  After we were on, the driver said it was his last trip of the day and he wasn't going back to bricktown!  As you can see, the sun was starting to set.  So we got a little exercise as we hustled back to our hotel.

The chairs representing the people who died in the attack.

Walking back

Feeding more ducks.

Statues depicting the Oklahoma Land Race.  They are "hero" size meaning 1 and 1/2 times normal size.  When finished, there will be 46 statues (some kind of record for bronze statues).  They are on both sides of the canal.

Oklahoma City Redhawks.  Light crowd for labor day.

At the game

Picture of the canal, very similar to San Antonio for those that have been.

"River taxi's", the same ones they use in San Antonio

Oklahoma City Zoo.  This is a picture of the two adult elephants and the baby elephant "Maylee".  Gabe LOVED that there was a baby there.  We got some toy elephants and he has been talking somewhat nonstop about Maylee since then.

A thirsty bear.  =)

We did not go swimming.

Various activities in September

Gabe's first gymnastics class.
Getting ready to do a forward roll

His favorite animals (on the golf course)
Zebra
Go-karting with daddy.  Gabe covered his ears the entire time.
Playing mini-golf on a trip with the youth group.
Does he look like a pro?

Reds game with cousins

Some random (completely out of order) pictures from the Reds game with the whole family (minus Nana, and Nathan, who was stuck in Texas!).

Trip to Green Bay

I think most everyone who might care has seen the wedding photos on facebook or through e-mail, so here are a few other things that we did while on our trip. These are not in order.

We stopped at Lambeau for lunch and snapped a few obligatory shots.
A fun morning at the Green Bay Train Museum

This was at the state park where the wedding took place
A little puzzle time
The rest are at the Green Bay Zoo before we left to go to the wedding.

Gabe's "first" haircut

I know, I know. He's 3, right? Well, it was his first official haircut. We've done a few home trims, but I don't claim to be a stylist. So anyway, we wanted to make the procedure as painless as possible, so we went to Cool Cuts for Kids. They let him pick out a video (although he didn't actually do so because he was being stubborn about the whole thing). He fought getting into the seat (a cool taxi car!) for about 60 seconds and then he settled in for the ride.
We saw this face a few times.
And he leaned as far away from the stylist as he could get for most of the time.
Not a bad deal...sucking on a lollipop, watching toy story in a car. We won't do this everytime!
Proud of his new short haircut with his certificate.
