Post number 3 Dinosaur Valley State Park
This state park is known for the dinosaur footprints that are in the Paluxy riverbed. I don't know much about it, and we didn't stay long, but I think we stayed long enough that Gabe is now in love with dinosaurs. You'll have to look it up if you want more information (and I guess I will too).
One of the footprints.
A larger view with several footprints.

This dinosaur was built for a world fair (1960's/70's?).

Post number 2 Fossil Rim Wildlife Center
We took a little overnight trip to Fossil Rim in Glen Rose Texas last night, at least partially as an anniversary trip for Nathan and I (which happens to be today). We had such a fun time! This was one of our little campground friends (the first LIVE armadillo we have ever seen in Texas).
Here was another of our campground friends, an addax. They were fearless of cars and people and would come right up to your window like you had something to give them.
Gabe slept in a "big boy" bed for the first time! Nathan and I had to share an uncomfortable twin bed and we were both awake half the night. Fun, fun.
This was our cabin/tent from the outside. Small, but it had air-conditioning and a full bathroom inside. It was more than a lot of people in the world have!
The view from our tent.
On the scenic drive. This takes a couple hours to get through and as you will see, there are multiple animals that you can see and touch. This was our friend the ostrich. They are quite aggressive.
These emus were even more aggressive! And crazy looking! Gabe said he did not want to see anymore of these.

More of the addax.
One of the giraffe's at the car in front of us.
Now coming toward us looking for more food.
Eating out of Nathan's hand.
Eating our of Gabe's hand (with my hand underneath - he needed a little reassurance that the giraffe wasn't going to take off his hand)
Gabe at the overlook cafe waiting for lunch with his new cheetah friend.
CLOSE up to a zebra.

They were aggressive too! Nathan was quite literally pushing him out of our car at this point. We had one zebra who planted himself RIGHT in front of our car and a zebra on both sides of our vehicle trying to stick there noses in a car. One of them actually had his mouth on the inside of the vehicle and left slobber.

Another giraffe
Another ostrich - these guys cracked us up!
Post number 1 Chuck-e-cheese
We went to Chuck-e-cheese on Saturday night because we were having an open house on Sunday and I already had the kitchen cleaned up. =) They are doing some construction nearby and Gabe like looking at all the trucks. We thought that was going to be his favorite part of the whole evening until...
He saw this inside! Gabe loves Bob the Builder! He was pretty excited.

A couple other rides...

We had a pretty good time, but it was crazy crowded. More posts to come; we had a busy weekend, so I thought I'd break it up. Sorry for the mass amounts of e-mail to those that get e-mail notices.

Painting and Chick-fil-a
Well, since the little one has been sick all week, I don't have too many entertaining pictures for you. Below is a picture of Gabe's first attempt at finger painting from last weekend. He didn't care for it too much. He's not a big fan of being messy I guess. Who am I to complain?
This is my somewhat pitiful attempt at decorations for the fourth of july. We found out that Gabe also does not care much for fireworks. Of course, that may also have something to do with the high temperatures he was having at the time. He didn't like too much of anything this past week.
However, Gabe is MUCH better now and we got to go out for the Cow Appreciation day at Chick-fil-a when they give away free food for dressing like a cow. We're not chicken!

swim lessons
Yesterday was the last official day of Gabe's swim lessons, but today was a make-up day for a class that was rained out earlier this week. These pictures (minus the flower) are all from yesterday. As many of you saw on facebook, I've been waiting for my daylillies to bloom for more than 2 yrs. When one finally did, Gabe pulled the head off the flower. So a few days later, another bloom came up and I took a picture just in case. It did indeed last about a day before it closed up again. Gabe said "Where's your flower? Did it get broken?"
*Viewer warning* I am in a swimsuit. Since I believe it is all friends and family reading this blog, I will trust you can deal with this fact. =)
Below: Gabe coming up with his 'diving' toys. For whatever reason, he did NOT want to get his face even CLOSE to the water right at this moment, so it took GREAT lengths to get him to reach down and get these toys.

Getting ready to go down the slide!
Splash! In (and under) the water. Gabe said "I do not want to do that again".
This is Gabe's certificate that he Gabe received for completing the class.

new craft project
So, Gabe really likes for his buddies to have shirts on and we were using some of Gabe's old newborn shirts, but they weren't really cutting it. I told him I'd work on making some shirts for them. This is the first one, which I ended up hand sewing because I couldn't get my cursed sewing machine to work. Leah, help!!! Anyway, I don't think it's too bad for my first attempt. It'll only get better from here, I hope!

Playing outside...love summertime!
Another video...Gabe has been enjoying whenever we water the grass/plants. He certainly turns it into an adventure. After he's soaking wet, we just put in his jammies.
We had a good day/night. We watched Finding Nemo tonight and ate some ice cream for a treat. Gabe helped me make a felt "carrot" pictured below.
We've been working on making some felt food when we have time. He stuffed the carrot for me. It's nice when he can help. He's in bed now but still jabbering a bit.
Happy Father's Day to Nathan, Popaw, Grandpa, Tim and Chris!
